In North America city Toronto continues to hold the record for having the most construction cranes. There are about twice as many cranes in the city's district area alone compared to its closest challenger.

According to Rider Levett Bucknall's (RLB) most recent Crane Index Toronto now has 83 cranes as of the conclusion of the third quarter. This increase is a noteworthy rise from the 208 cranes that were counted at the beginning of 2021, and it comes after a little decline earlier in the year. 

At the moment, residential development is the first-string usage for most of Toronto's cranes, and this industry is growing significantly. But there's also development in public assembly, education, healthcare, and transportation initiatives.

Crane activity has also increased significantly in Calgary, another Canadian city, proposing a notable expansion in capital projects. This emergence is being driven by major initiatives like the Green Line LRT, Future Energy Park, and Calgary Events Centre.
